Our field trip to Nature Bridge at the Santa Monica Mountains is just around the corner! The adventures begin on Wednesday of next week, February 22nd and conclude on Friday, February 24th.
Here is the link that the students need in order to complete their colonist character sketches.
The first section should be five sentences long and the second section should be at least four sentences. They are based on the identity that they chose in class today. The character sketches are due on Friday. Happy Tuesday!
We have another short week ahead of us with lots of new topics to dive into. In Science we will begin studying the systems of the body beginning with the respiratory system. We will learn the pathway that air takes in our bodies and create a model of the lungs! In Social Studies we will continue to study the events that led to the Revolutionary War, focusing on the role that Patriots, Loyalists, and Neutralists played as well as experiencing the Intolerable Acts and the First Continental Congress.
Tomorrow, Valentines Day, students will have the opportunity to exchange valentines in the afternoon. Snacks will be provided by Miss Cooke. Friday will have a Noon dismissal.
Last reminder! Open House will be taking place THIS Sunday. 5th Grade also has the Sunday Mass at 12:15 pm, right before open house. Please have your child to school by 11:15 so that we have plenty of time to set-up and prep for both Mass and Open House. I am so excited to see how everything has come together!
All 5th Grade is strongly encouraged to attend 12:15 pm Mass this Sunday, January 29th. Our class will be reading, altar serving, and ushering at Mass so everyone must attend. This is convenient as the open house begins just after Mass! As of right now, here is what each student has volunteered to do:
Jordan- 1st Reading
Alex: 2nd Reading
Devin R.- Petitions
David K.- Altar Server
Candela- Altar Server
Devon C.- Altar Server
