Our classroom had a great time learning about the ocean and all of the many creatures that live there. Our week was guided by the interests of your children. At the beginning of the week we played with our new water table outside, learned about jellyfish and even made our own. We learned how clams and oysters make pearls, all about sea stars and how they eat and move, octopus and sharks. As under the sea week comes to a close, I would like to share some of the memorable moments we had this week.
Art time is a great time for preschoolers to be creative and use their imaginations. Its wonderful to see them transfer what they have learned to the art piece they are working on.
Free play is important for preschool! This is the time they learn to interact and problem solve with their peers. They are a very social group and love to build and play. They’re always so proud of their creations.
A big thank you to Gregg Waugh for building preschool some much needed shelving for our classroom. We are currently using this space for our science center and home to our new class pet, Lightning!
The weather has been very nice this week which allowed for some extra time in the sunshine for preschool. We love any extra time we can get outdoors if that means an afternoon story in the garden, enjoying the beautiful chalk boards or even taking play-dough outside.
As we prepare and plan for the summer months at Holy Cross, please stop and speak with me and let me know if your child will be attending our summer session this year.
