Hi Third and Fourth Grade Families!
Yay! I finally figured out how to do this and I’m so excited.
Your students are growing every day and I’m learning more about who they are and what their strengths are. Last Friday we started the “Self Portrait” assessment in the computer lab to discover each child’s learning preferences. Some finished and some still need to finish. Mrs. Willis was there to help us and she will be coaching me through the process.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are PE, so be sure to send water bottles and have your students wear appropriate shoes on those days.
Last Friday was our first day with the new music teacher. She is incredible and it was such a joy to hear all your children singing so beautifully.
Today I taught separate social studies for the first time. It will take a while for the students to learn patience while I’m instructing one group at a time. Tomorrow I will teach separate math classes, so this will be a week of getting used to working independently for short periods at a time.
Thursday is a Free Dress day for $1.00 and Jeans for $2.00.
Friday is National Curiosity Day, so we will work with our little buddies, (the Kindergarteners), on that day, as well as participate in fun activities.
Your children should have brought book orders home. Please send them into class by September 28th.
Instead of Spelling, we will be doing vocabulary words from Social Studies, Science and Reading. The children will need to know definitions, as well as how to spell the words, but the testing method will vary. Please be patient as I develop my curriculum to your children’s unique needs.
Thank you for all your support and for sending your wonderful children to my class everyday. They are really special, kind, and creative. I am thoroughly enjoying each one.
Blessings to all of you!
