This Friday is our Field trip to the Santa Barbara Sea Center. Please make sure to pack a lunch that day. We will not be at school for lunch and therefore, Choice Lunch will not be available to us. If you are not driving, please make sure to send a booster seat with your child. Thank you. We will be leaving at 9:00 am and returning around 2:00 pm.
Our May Book reports went home last week. There are due on Wednesday, May 25th.
Monday– Homework folders went home today with all graded work. Please take it out and look through it. Also this week’s homework went home.
Tuesday– 8:15 am Mass. No shorts please and all family members are invented to join us. Music
Wednesday– P.E. (wear tennis shoes please). Religion and Math Test
Thursday– Dismissal is at 2:00pm.
Friday– Library, Spanish, and Computers. Spelling Test.
First Grade is learning…
Religion: We will finishing Chapter 19: The Church helps the world. Test is on Wednesday. We will then begin Chapter 20: We Pray with Holy Songs
Math: We will finish Topic 19: Measurement. Test is on Wednesday. We will then begin Topic 20: Adding and subtracting with tens and ones.

Dictation Sentences: For the rest of the year: your child should make up one sentence and memorize it to write on their test. The second one will be a surprise and will be graded according to First grade phonics skill. The third one I will give you to practice: I lost my tooth at noon.

Comprehension Skill: Using was and were
Writing: Practice writing a number topic sentence
Social Studies: We will begin our last unit in Social Studies, Unit 5: Good Citizens.
Bi-Weekly Assessments are given every other week and will replace sight word tests. We are no longer taking a sight word test on Fridays. However, a few of our sight words will be on the Bi-Weekly assessment so please make sure to practice those nightly. Reading the spelling words will also help your child do well on the assessment.
