Andrew VanConas (“Mr. VC”) is the new Seventh Grade teacher at Holy Cross School. Last year he taught third grade at Holy Cross. Prior to teaching, Mr. VC was in the technology field, where he served as a corporate trainer and technical writer, and developed social media for small businesses. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Governors University (Educational Studies), and has been a substitute teacher at Our Lady of the Assumption School and St. Bonaventure High School.
Andrew and his wife Kendall are proud of their two daughters, who are both attending Catholic schools, Julia is a sophomore at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC where she is majoring in Theology, and Natalie is a Senior at Saint Bonaventure High School. The VanConas’ are an active parish family at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, where Andrew has served on the Men’s Ministry leadership council and as the race director for the OLA 5K, and where Natalie is a peer leader for the Youth Ministry. Kendall serves on the steering committee for the Ventura County Red Mass.
Andrew looks to guide and inspire his students by giving them confidence to tackle life challenges. He lives his faith through F.A.M.I.L.Y. – Forget About Me I Love You. His class is a FAMILY.
Andrew has been Head Cross Country Coach at Saint Bonaventure for the past 7 years, and guided the Boys team to a 7th place finish in the California State meet last year. He also serves as an Assistant Head Coach of the Saint Bonaventure Track and Field team. Andrew is a proud veteran of the United State Coast Guard. In his free time, Andrew cheers on the New York Yankees, the UCLA Bruins and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
