Hello I’m Edie Lanphar I come from a large Catholic family and am a mom of two wonderful young men as well as an experienced educator who is passionate about the holistic education of students. I believe I have many strengths, which include creating, building and nurturing communities where everyone feels connected, supported and understood. I am looking forward to the growth and learning opportunities that will unfold. I am excited to become a part of the Mission parish and Holy Cross school. I have been shaped by the Catholic schools I have attended throughout my life and know how valuable they have been in my own faith and educational development. Being of service is a foundational Catholic tenet that has inspired me in my life, along with a passion to help all students and their families in their goals to experience success in all facets of their lives. Additionally, my strengths contribute to helping students who are struggling, and the adults who work with them, to resolve any behavioral issues in proactive, productive ways. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and a Master of Arts degree from the California Family Study Center in North Hollywood, and I hold a California Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I recently returned lecturing for four years in Australia in a Christian Education faculty with pre-service teachers and spent last year teaching middle school at Good Shepherd School in Santa Cruz. I look forward to be of service this year to the Holy Cross community and welcome all of our students, parents and staff to another wonderful year here at Holy Cross School.
